Obituary

Thelma Geneva Smith was born on December 31, 1935, to Leona (Sawyer) Hall and Leonard Hall. She was the ninth child out of thirteen siblings and was the last surviving family member of that generation.

Thelma grew up in the small town of Key West, Florida, a town she loved dearly.

Thelma had a passionate love for all her family and enjoyed spending time with them whenever she got the chance. She also enjoyed singing old gospel hymns, doing crossword puzzles, and playing bingo.

Thelma was married to Alton Smith (deceased) in February 1977, and was happily married for twenty-one years before his passing. In 1998, she moved from Key West to live with her family in Orlando, Florida.

Thelma took her last earthly breath in Orlando, Florida surrounded by her family, with her youngest daughter by her side and holding her hand.

Thelma was a loving mother to four children, Viann Patterson (Joe Sr.), Charles Hall (Tina), Sheree Mounts (Luther Jr.), and Rodney Hall (Linda). She also had fifteen grandchildren: Demetrius Hall, Luther Mounts III (Aidyl), Charles Bruns (Tanisha), Crystal Patterson, Joe Patterson Jr., Shawnte Harris (Joe), Noblis Mounts-Harvard (Cedric), Carolina Mounts-Jackson (Jerry), Tyran Patterson (deceased), Tamika Pringle, Jamar Hall (deceased), Denise Ramm, Rodney Hall Jr., Christine Hall, and Sean Tate.
