Obituary

Today we honor the life of our now dearly departed daughter, sister, aunt, niece, wife and dear friend to many. Mrs.Terian Walcott-Reid affectionately and fondly known as "Leisha, Bright Eyes" by her family and childhood friends, gained her wings on Thursday July 12th, 2024, and has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was truly the friendliest, beautiful, amazing, pleasant, charming, compassionate and a wonderful woman of God, who was the kindest, and most loving person in the world to her children, her husband, her entire immediate and extended family, as well as her church family at Joe Hut Baptist and later, Next Generation Christian Church (NGCC).

At a tender age, she was introduced to Joe Hut Bethesda Baptist Church, by her mother Dorret (otherwise known as Ms. Maria), where a long line of her family were members for decades. Terian grew up in the church and was an active member who participated in various ministries. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Fellowship Leader, Choir member and Vocation Bible School Instructor. Other responsibilities include the reading of the Sunday School Report, Youth Secretary, and being a member of the Community Outreach program.

Terian dedicated her life to her family and making sure they were all supported in whatever way she could. Our sister, Terian was born on May 18, 1980, at the Ulster Spring Hospital in Trelawny Jamaica. She grew up in the vicinity of Joe Hut, where she spent most of her childhood and early adult life. Terian was the daughter of loving parents Dorret and Valentine Walcott. Terian is survived by her husband Robert Reid, children Shakeil Miller, Sequoia Green and Robert Reid Jr., her father Valentine Walcott, mother Dorret Walcott, brothers: Lawrence Walcott, Eval Walcott, Patrick Walcott, Ainsley Walcott, Rayan Walcott, Neuville Walcott, sisters: Lackesia Walcott, Rema Walcott, Novia Walcott, stepchildren: Jocelyn, Mercedes, Savana and Janessa, Sister-in-law Esa Sawyer Rodriguez (Kevin), Brother-in-law, Troy Brown (Michelle) numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

As a child Terian attended Freemans Hall Primary school in Trelawny, Jamaica. After which she attended Lowe River All Age and then Albert Town High where she was a straight A student. After graduating High School Terian went on to further her education by completing her certification in Hospitality.

She Joined the "Next Generation Christian Church" and became a faithful member under the leadership of Senior Pastor Dr. Baymeadows, Jacksonville, Florida, where they settled into married life and continued being loving parents to their three children. She Joined the "Next Generation Christian Church" and became a faithful member under the leadership of Senior Pastor Dr. Willie J. Brown, where she continued to practice her faith and express her love for Christ.

Terian was known to not just settle for the average things in life. She was a "Go getter" who only wanted the best for herself, husband, children, and her family back in Jamaica. While working and taking care of her husband and three children, she still found time to attend Nursing School to obtain her Nursing Certification to become a Registered Nurse (which was what she passionately aspired to become). She was scheduled to sit for her state exams the following week when tragedy struck on her birthday, May 18th, 2024, when she was severely burnt and was admitted at Gainesville hospital in the burn unit. This hindered her from accomplishing her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse.

During her stay at the hospital, she was surrounded by her family members and friends along with the hospital staff who worked diligently in trying to save her life. Unfortunately, on July 12th, 2024, at 4:18 pm in the present of her mother, husband, pastor and other family members, Terian Walcott-Reid took her last breath. Terian was an incredible, compassionate, kind, loving, devoted, God fearing person who lived for God and her family. We are immensely fortunate to have known her and had her as our daughter, sister, aunt, niece and loving wife to her husband. Words are not enough to express our loss. She was loved by so, so many. We will truly miss you dearly our darling Terian. Sleep well in the arms of your precious Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, until we meet again.
