It is with great sadness we announce that Robert L. Bethel Sr, aged 43, has tragically and suddenly passed away on September 13, 2025, at his residence in Key West, FL. He was born on the island of Key West as a 6th generation conch on November 24th1981, to his parents Harry L. Bethel Sr and Jacquelyn Faye Bethel. He was pre-deceased by his brother Tony Perez and is survived by his son Robert L. Bethel Jr., and his brothers Jason Perez, Austin Bethel, Harry L. Bethel Jr., Tony Bethel and Scott Bethel. Robert also had numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was raised in Key West his whole life and attended Key West High School where he graduated. He had a fascination with computers from a young age and started his career as an intern in the IT Department at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority where he stayed for the next 15 years and earned several certificates for his vast knowledge and understanding of his work. He did what he loved and gained new knowledge every day that he would use to help others in and outside of the workplace without hesitation.

Outside of his love for computers, he also grew up loving and watching wrestling. He loved collecting and reading comic books when he was kid and in his adult life became an avid reader of books in general. He thoroughly enjoyed discovering new media such as movies, TV shows and music. Above all of this he loved his family more than anything this world had to offer. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone. Even in just the simple and small moments of conversation or being in his presence, you can feel his brightness and sincerity.

Funeral service will be on September 20, 2025, Saturday at 10:00 AM at Dean Lopez funeral home. There will be no family gathering after the funeral service.
