Obituary

"Her life was a beautiful memory, her absence, a silent grief. She is asleep in God's beautiful garden a place of sunshine and perfect peace."

JULIA LENORA CAMPBELL, affectionately known as "Sissy", was born on December 18, 1929, in Key West, Florida to David and Rosa Allen. Julia was one of four children born to this union. As a child Julia was always very kind and humble. She attended Douglass High School. Julia accepted the Lord as her savior at a very young age. She, along with her family, remained an active and faithful member of Cornish Memorial AME Zion Church where she sang in the choir and served on the deaconess board.

In 1948, Julia met and married Rubin Campbell Jr. and together they raised and reared five beautiful daughters that they were extremely proud of Julia enjoyed being a homemaker and loved spoiling and indulging her children. Julia was also very active within the Key West community belonging to several organizations. She was a member of the Blessed Community Gospel Choir, American Legion Auxiliary Post 168, since the year 1965, and Myrna

E. Sawyer Key of the Gulf #5, Order of the Eastern Stars where she served as Electa and was the eldest living member of the organization. Julia also loved music and enjoyed dancing to all genres of music. She loved to eat; seafood was her favorite. And no matter what she always kept a smile and had an encouraging word for others. She was a woman of great faith. In the middle of her most difficult times, she always relied on God for strength, protection, and guidance. Her strength, joy, and calm spirit were the highlight of who she was, and she was a delight to all that she met.

On January 13, 2025, the Lord said unto Julia, "Great is thy Faithfulness! Great is thy Faithfulness! Morning by Morning, New Mercies I see! All I have needed, thy hath provided Great is thy faithfulness lord unto me!" and she quietly slipped into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Rosa Allen, and her siblings, David Allen, Louise Allen, and Verdelle Allen.

Julia leaves to mourn her death, her loving and devoted daughters, Carolyn Brown, Althea (William) Gardner; Christine (Jeff) Thomas, Darlene (Ron) Figgers, and Roxanne (Alfred) Rahming; her loving and devoted granddaughter, Latanya Campbell, whom she raised and loved as her own child; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren far too many to be named. A special thanks to Frank Ashe, William Gallagher Jr., Mary (Queenie) Mack, Cetha Deane, Evangeline Washington, and Neyda Tasayco for your selfless acts of kindness. May God bless you all immensely.
