John Scott Nitka, age 65, known as Scott, peacefully passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 18 after battling cancer. His wife was by his side. Scott was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Florida with his family while in his teens. He lived in St. Augustine, FL for a few years before moving to Jacksonville, Fl and then in 2003 to Sugarloaf, FL to pursue his dreams. He always gave 110 percent of himself to his family and to everything he did in life.

He and his wife of 30 years, Joanne, loved each other unconditionally and his last thoughts were only of her, never complaining about his impending fate. He is survived by his wife Joanne, daughter Shawna Waltz, son-in-law Sean Waltz, grandsons Kyle Perry and Aaron Waltz, and granddaughter Alexis Waltz. He will be forever loved and missed by all.

His wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned at his time.
