James Alexander Davis was the fourth child born to Mildred and Joseph Davis, Sr. on July 1, 1937.

He was a graduate in the class of 1956 of Douglass High School in Key West, Florida.

James enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Upon his return to Key West, he was employed with the City of Key West and later retired. He also worked at numerous automobile dealerships in Key West.

He was a member of the Coral City Elks Lodge 610.

He was preceded in death by his lifelong partner Cynthia Roberts and his siblings: Harold, Miriam, Joseph Jr., Elizabeth Ann and Paul.

James is survived by his sister Edna Mae Demeritte and brother Leonard Davis; son Wayne Roberts and daughter Sheila Janette Roberts; and numerous nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.
