Darron Leroy
Barber
January 24, 1965 – July 5, 2023
Darron Leroy Barber was born Jan. 24, 1965 in Key West, Florida to Florine Louise Thomas Lane and Romey Leroy Barber.
He departed this life on July 5, 2023. He answered the call because he knew God had kept his promise ... "To not put more on him than he could bear." We "Praise God from whom all blessings flow" because we know he is resting with King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
He loved everything to do with the water from boating, fishing, diving, kayaking and paddleboarding, which he passed down to his son, Darron Alan. He had a great love for his family and friends. He would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He loved to cook and could make something out of nothing. He had a contagious smile and was friendly and sociable.
He was preceded in death by his father, Romey Leroy Barber; brother, Victor Sawyer, Sr.; daughter, Tiffany Cruz; uncles, Timothy Thomas, Sr.; George Sawyer, and Frank Thomas; and aunt, Voreece V. Williams.
Darron leaves behind his mother, Florine L. Lane (Rev. Bernard Lane) of Miami, FL; son, Darron Alan Barber (Aleksandra Kirichkova) of Key West, FL; sisters, Deatrice Sawyer Silva (Anthony) of Rochester, New York; Anita Scott of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Romeyl Barber Carter of Delaware; and brother, Randell Barber of Philadelphia, PA; five granddaughters: Jaila Cruz, Jashuna Richardson of Barksdale Air Force Base, LA, Keyonna Cruz, Ariana Cruz and Taniya Clark; grandson, Malachi Cruz; favorite cousin (aka brother); David Gray, Sr. (Nicole), special aunt Naomi Thomas, Key West, FL; Norma Thomas, Miami, FL; Michelle Thomas, Miami, FL; nieces Kindra Sawyer, Jasmine Sawyer, Laronia Tillett of Rochester, New York; nephews Cortez Tillett (Ashli) and Victor Sawyer, Jr. and a host of cousins and friends.
