Beverly Jane
Rue
February 19, 1932 – August 25, 2025
Beverly J. Rue (Watson) passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, in Key West, Florida at the age of 93.
Bev, as she was known by everyone, was born in Philadelphia to the late Armer and late Margaret.
Bev was married to her husband, John "Pete," for 78 years.
Soon after graduating high school, Bev proudly entered the corporate world, something almost unheard of at the time, working her way up the ladder of success at IBM. She eventually retired to her summer home in Longport, New Jersey.
While in New Jersey, Bev was a volunteer for the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.
After many years of being a snowbird, Bev and Pete moved full-time to the vibrant weather and atmosphere of Key West where they enjoyed a full life of friends, family and parties that are still talked today about after many years.
Bev enjoyed family, food, animals, margaritas, good wine, music (Barbra Streisand), reading, playing cards, dancing, the casino, tabloid magazines and telling fantastic stories. Later in life, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. If she knew someone was having a baby, you were certain to receive a beautiful, handcrafted blanket for your newborn.
Bev leaves behind a loving legacy, cherished by her beloved daughter, Karen Fortucci (Louis); granddaughter, Lisa Fortucci (Mark Hasenpat); granddaughter, Linda Bieberbach (Christopher); great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Godorov (Dennis Thomas); great-grandson, Luke Bieberbach; great-granddaughter, Regan Bieberbach and great-granddaughter, Morgan Bieberbach.
Bev is also survived by her cousin, Judith Armitage (George), great-nephew, John Rue (Donna) and a grandson in love, Alex Godorov.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Rocky Tingle, Belkis from Hospice and Ailyn from Hospice for all their excellent, compassionate care. Most importantly, her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth, who was there every step of the way. It has not gone unnoticed.
Bev's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the memories of her warmth and wit will comfort us in the days to come.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Should you desire, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice in Beverly's name.
