Mrs. Barbara B. Bastian Cruz, affectionately known as "Bobbi", was born to the late Albert Sr. and Rosetta Bastian on Aug. 30, 1927. She had two sisters, Villa Mae Ferguson of Key West, Fl., and Marva Johnson of Ca., and four brothers, Mr. Albert Bastian of Key West, Fl., Mr. William "Bucky" Bastian of Miami, Fl., Mr. Wilfred Bastian of Conway, SC., and Mr. Julian Bastian of Ca., of which all siblings preceded her in death.

Barbara (Bobbi) Cruz's early education was at St. Peter's Episcopal Parochial school and Douglass school in Key West, Florida.

In 1944, she married Victor E. Cruz and to this union eight (8) children were born. Their fourth child, Marian Rosetta Cruz, preceded her in death at the young age of seven-years old. Husband Victor E. Cruz on March 14, 2004, preceded her in death, followed by her son Albert N. "Abby" Cruz's death on July 18, 2009.

In her early years, she was in Bethel No. 2 Choir and served in other capacities at church.

Barbara Cruz leaves to cherish her loving memory, daughters: Patricia (Dr. Clarence Branch, Ph.D.) Branch of El Paso, Tx., Sandra (Rev. Walter) Brown Sr. of Titusville, FL, Shirley (James) Grant of Smyrna, Ga., and Maybelle (Albert) Monroe of Midway, Ga.

She also leaves behind her sons: Victor M. Cruz of Midway, Ga., Cedric E. Cruz of Key West, FL, along with two stepsons: Curtis Cruz and Clayton Cruz.

Barbara Cruz was a grandma to 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great­ great-grandchildren.

She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who loved her and will miss her.
